Learn Lead Guitar
Can I learn directly off the guitar instead of learning the first sound?

I've never really played the guitar in my life before, but I am eager to learn because I am a big fan of 80s rock / progressive rock. I talked to some people in some music stores close, and they recommended that I learn acoustic guitar before even thinking about learning the guitar solo. Other people told me it does not really matter what I learned first. What should I do and why? Thank you

Honestly, electricity should be easier to "start". The strings are easier to insert easier to bend, slide, etc. In addition, if you do not want to blow house there, you do not need to plug it in and you can play it quietly. In addition, a biggie, you HEAR YOUR MISTAKES on a lot MORE THAN ELECTRIC ACOUSTIC. Thus, playing an electric (connected) you can hear all your errors, compared to an acoustic, you can not hear as much. I wish I started with an electric. Also with an electric, you can go right to work playing power chords, which is easy and you can suound good in a short time with little global knowledge. I highly recommend an electric to an acoustic. 1.) Easier to push down on the frets, do not kill the tips of fingers 2.) Your errors will be minimized that you will get better because they are magnified a thousand times through the amplifier. May seem bad, but it's really good because you get better much faster. 3.) You can get a Line 6 15 amps Watt (awsome little amp startup) will play all the music you want (metal, blues, clear sound, its crunch, nothing) for $ 99. Also a decent power (a Stratocaster Made in Mexico, $ 400). If you want a decent life sound, the less you'll pay is $ 500, the acoustics are just expensive to get a decent. With an electric as I said above, you can play any music right off the bat (metal, alternative, blues, rock), nothing. With acoustics, you are somewhat limited to the tone / type of music you play.

Electric Acoustic Guitars
Do acoustic bass and electric guitars all have the same fingerings for notes?

My friend and I are planning on booting a group and plays electric and I want to play the bass. I wonder if both have the same fingerings for notes. And there is an acoustic guitar I could buy if she'll help me learn to play bass too. I know it sounds a bit dumb, but acoustic guitars, electric guitars and bass guitars are the same fingerings for the same notes?

Yes, the notes and fingerings are the same. A four-string bass guitar has the same notes as the lower (deeper) four strings on a guitar, one octave (12 notes) below. That said, a guitar and a bass has two different ways to be widely played and another meaning for them. The lowest on a scale (string length longer, and thus a greater distance between the frets) is one of these differences. More important is the way the bass lays the foundation and groove with the drums. As such, they have different rhythmic sense that what the guitars are usually the most time. In short, they are read differently. To understand music theory, notes, scales, the structure of music, songs, etc., play the guitar will be useful to the extent that another instrument goes. However, playing a bass guitar as opposed to an often requires different mindset all together. But do not let all this scare you – to plunge everything into it! We all learn as we go. Have fun and play and high :-) strong

Learn Guitar Licks
What is the best method you use to learn the guitar riffs of songs?

If you mean 'learning ear from recordings, "then nothing is well-trained ears and the solid foundation of music theory. Playing music certainly helps. Reading allows you to instantly see the musical concepts, training your ears and understand music theory. If you do not already have these skills, get a teacher and acquire skills. In the meantime, any decent guitar teacher should be able to show you the most popular the guitar licks and tricks. There is no reason to use the TAB key. TAB shows nothing except strings and fret details. TAB teaches nothing, except memorization by heart model in the most tedious, slow and tedious way musicians. TAB can not teach music theory. TAB does not involve ear. TAB is obsolete are four hundred years. None of the musicians except the most ignorant guitarists use the TAB key. Without exception, TAB and sucks we should all guitarists who use it. Get a teacher. Learn the licks, it can show you. See how he learns. Learn to read. learn music theory. train your ears through the practice of scales, chords, arpeggios and progressions. It's better than the faster, easier and fun method the most to learn the guitar music on any other instrument. Take pleasure cut short. Take the easy path. Learn to read. Learning to practice correctly. There is no better way.
