Where To Learn Guitar

I want to learn the bass guitar, where do I start?

I wanted to learn an instrument for a long time, and I am sure I'll learn to play bass guitar. What a good kind of guitar for a beginner? Should I take a book and learn that? I do not want to get a bass teacher.

I personally am self-taught, I started with a block of $ 300 startup Fender Squier Fender Rumble with 15 starters DVD, and a tuner. When I started learning, I had some experience of light music, (1 year, cello), but first you must build finger strength, practice pressing the frets slide up and down the neck, switching chains, etc., then go to tabs and easier to learn songs that you like.
